Greetings Syndicate Brethren,
Your friendly bookie’s annual emergence from the shadows
begins. Along with it comes a unique trepidation common among those of us
dedicated to tirelessly working the keys. Every writer possesses a profoundly
serious fear; a fear far more deeply-rooted than the usual concerns about
rejection, heartbreak, poverty, panic, or illness. More than anything else, a
writer fears the loss of sincerity. Charlatans
lord over the Information Age. They can all too easily exploit the numerous
nooks left by a populace suffering from an inundation of work and data. They
can even take such exploitation to the point of securing a major party’s
presidential nomination, but that’s a separate rant unto itself. ; )
Your friendly neighborhood syndicate continues, now entering
its 15th year and 22nd Chapter. We march on despite the
fact that your friendly bookie no longer calls the Shadows his home. Hiding
from the world in a tranquil cocoon of blissful academic research eventually
proved too much for even the most esoteric of eccentrics. Change shouldn’t be
feared. A loss of sincerity, however, remains the most abhorrent of all crimes.
Your friendly bookie proclaims the advent of Summer, and SINCERELY invites all
of his old mates to join him in a celebration of Friends & Football.
Make time for your kids. Make time for your parents. Make
love and laughter as often as possible. Live lionhearted or don’t bother living
at all. Sincerity remains more important than any goddamned piece of
manipulative nonsense that the exploitative charlatans will throw at you.
My Syndicate Members rise above. Welcome back, gentlemen.
Did I mention that you should go kick a ball with a
stranger?
SERIOUSLY…Go Kick a ball with a stranger!
: ) : )
Alles aus Liebe,
S.S. PJW
