Добро пожаловать назад Syndicate Members,
Coverage of these tournaments continues to prove salaciously irresistible.
A true and unadulterated sense of joy accompanies the privilege of having one’s
prognostications proven completely wrong. Any human being possessing some
semblance of depth attempts to make sense of the world through sincere attempts
at a sort of categorical organization of the world around them. Immanuel Kant
once attempted to verbalize these inherently necessary organizational efforts,
only to end up becoming the most easily satirized joke of German Enlightenment
Philosophy.
Your Friendly Morose German Bookie would give most anything to be
ridiculed like Kant. I genuinely love being proven wrong. The Ruskies are about
to draw the Mexicans. The Kiwis might put up a fight against the Navigators. It’s
mostly a forgone conclusion that Chile and Germany will advance, but I’m not
ready to count out whatever Hugo Broos has in store.
Lines are set to induce confident contrarian wagers on all of my
analysis. Bring them on ; )

Mexico vs. Russia
The Salcedo injury doesn’t factor in. Hector Herrera’s
potential absence does. Osorio’s “tinkering” doesn’t approach the logical level
that Löw’s does…although the lack of a single substitution against Chile has me
thinking askew.
This bookie is prepared to back the Russians and predict a
draw.

New Zealand vs. Portugal
Chris Wood’s poor sportsmanship aside, I’ll back the Kiwis
in a match that Fernando Santos will invariably consider a “walkover”.

Deutschland vs. Cameroon
Löw will roll out another developmental lineup. Kevin Trapp,
Benjamin Henrichs, Amin Younes, Kerem Demirbay, and Marvin Plattenhardt will
all start.
Timo Werner? Hopefully.
Hugo Broos will likely roll out the same eleven again ; (

Australia vs. Chile
“La Roja” Won’t allow any goals past the keeper in an
important match. Claudio Bravo starts…and bedazzles at full stretch.
